Custom domains
Serve your app's links from your own domain, verified with a TXT and a CNAME record, with certificates issued and renewed for you.
Your app's links can live on your own domain, such as link.example.com, as well as on {app}.dev.thedbl.ink. Deep Blue Links serves the verification files, the preview pages and the certificate there too.
Use a subdomain: the setup needs a CNAME record, which a domain's apex can't have.
Add the domain
-
On your app's page in the dashboard, add the domain. An app's Admin can do this, and each domain name can be registered only once.
-
At your DNS provider, create the two records the dashboard shows:
Type Name Value TXT asuid.linkthe verification value the dashboard shows CNAME linkdev.thedbl.ink.The names are relative to your domain: for
link.example.com, the TXT record isasuid.link.example.com. -
Select Verify. Once both records resolve, Deep Blue Links adds the domain and issues a certificate for it, which takes a few minutes. If a record isn't visible yet, wait for it to propagate and verify again.
Certificates renew automatically before they expire.
Use it in your app
Add the domain wherever your app lists its link host:
- iOS:
applinks:link.example.comin the Associated Domains entitlement. - Android: an intent filter with
android:host="link.example.com"andandroid:autoVerify="true".
The domain serves your app's apple-app-site-association and assetlinks.json, so both platforms verify it like your link host.
Create links on it
Send a fullUrl on your domain, such as https://link.example.com/products/1234, and the link's short URL uses it: https://link.example.com/Xy3kP9aQ. A fullUrl given as a path keeps using your link host.
Remove it
Deleting the domain removes it and its certificate, so links on it stop opening.
